1. Trim the Wick:
Before each lighting, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch in length. This helps to prevent excessive smoking and ensures a clean, even burn. Dispose of any trimmed wick fragments properly, away from the wax.
2. Remove Wick "Cauliflower":
During extended burning periods, a "cauliflower" may form at the end of the wick. Before relighting the candle, gently remove this buildup with a tissue paper to minimize soot production. Remember, the wax itself does not produce any soot.
3. Allow Initial Burn:
When lighting your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the entire surface of the wax has melted. This helps to establish a full melt pool and prevents tunneling, ensuring an even burn throughout the life of the candle.
4. Limit Burn Time:
Avoid burning the candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time. This practice helps to prevent overheating of the container and ensures safe, efficient burning.
